| Details | Inspired by a passage in an Oscar Wilde novel where a painter describes a young boy as "a dream of thought that stimulates new imagination," this project is now in its fourth installment. "Black" is not merely a single color; it encompasses diverse hues, depths, and individual memories. Layering fragments of memory and depicting them on a single canvas with beautiful negative space, Aoi Aoki's world of black emerges with grace. Nukaga Sonoko's work translates the "fluctuations" of opposing worlds—substance and surface, consciousness and unconsciousness—into the tangible sense of existence in ceramics. Our inner and outer worlds, while undeniably existing, remain somewhat ambiguous and constantly wavering. At the intersection of the expressions woven by these two artists, what kind of world will you perceive? |
