| Details | Nakaya is an artist who uses the figure of a young girl as a motif to depict the emotional fluctuations and anxieties lurking in everyday life. This exhibition, "Gloomy Wednesday," deals with the process by which emotions gradually seep into the body over the course of a week. It begins with a peaceful everyday life. A slight sense of unease arises, and it gradually manifests in consciousness as "anxiety without reason." This anxiety manifests physically in the form of trembling legs, pain, and fever, and the invisible emotion rises up as a tangible presence. The girl depicted on the canvas is somewhat ambiguous, appearing as a being that drifts between emotion and body. Rough lines, blurring, layered colors—the traces of fluctuation and anxiety are preserved there. In addition to two-dimensional works, this exhibition will also include displays incorporating three-dimensional and spatial elements. It will be a time to quietly confront the unspoken changes in emotions. |
