| Details | Kyokugoma is a traditional performing art that showcases a variety of top acrobatic feats using large and small tops, such as spinning a top onto an open folding fan or moving it along the blade of a sword or a string. Originating in Hakata during the Edo period, it was passed down to Edo and is highly popular as a form of entertainment in vaudeville halls. Curved tops are characterized by their iron axle, and instead of using a string to spin them, they are spun with the thumb and index finger. Take this rare opportunity to give it a try! |
